BOOK RESPONSE ON EVERYDAY
Every
day by David Levithan is a Young Adult novel about a world where there is a
species of people who travel in different bodies every day, hence the name “Every Day.” This book follows a sixteen year old who belongs this species.
This boy, named A, falls in love with a human girl named Rhiannon. While he’s
trying to make this relationship work, another boy named Nathan finds out about
A, and he tries to hunt him down. I enjoyed this book although I did see some
flaws in it. One of the things I enjoyed about the book, is that the
character’s emotions and flaws were very realistic even though it was a
Science-Fiction novel. In the book I thought A’s flaws were realistic. One of
A’s flaws is that he is very needy. One example is how he would do whatever he
could to get closer to Rhiannon, even if it messed with the life of the body he
was borrowing at that time. Although many could argue he is in love. Also, I
felt that the characters were complex. For example, even though I supported
most of his actions I still found some that I didn’t agree with, because you
cannot agree with every action from the main character. As much as I enjoyed
the book there were some things I didn’t like. For example I felt the book was
pretty cheesy, and that was not so realistic. Also I don’t think that the
reactions of Rhiannon finding out about A did not seem natural. However in
conclusion, I thought that all in all the good parts outweighed the bad parts,
and it was a good
